Description

USB to I2C adapter manufactured by Yoctopuce. It allows allow you to query circuits through an I2C bus. The Yocto-I2C powers external circuits with 1.8V, 3.3V or 5V DC. The I2C serial communication can be configured to operate at  1.8V or 3.3V. DC. The Yocto-I2C can act as an I2C master only.

The Yocto-I2C USB to I2C adapter can autonomously query and parse I2C data coming from any external I2C sensor. The measurements are exposed as a Yoctopuce sensor. The interface has  all the inherent advantages: unique identifier, polling, callbacks, data logger. NOTE: this device does not work with applications designed to use a COM port: it is designed to be used with Yoctopuce API only.

This device can be connected directly to an Ethernet network using a YoctoHub-Ethernet.  To a WiFi network using a YoctoHub-Wireless-n . To to a GSM network using a YoctoHub-GSM.

The Yocto-I2C is a 50x20mm module. It has an I2C port which can work at will with 3.3V or 1.8V. It also has an additional power supply which can provide 5V, 3.3V, or 1,8V. So you can, if necessary, power your device with a different voltage than that of the I2C bus, which is a rather common occurrence.

As for all Yoctopuce electrical digital interfaces, not only can you drive the Yocto-I2C directly from your program, but you can also use the embedded job system to present the results in the way of a Yoctopuce sensor, with all the advantages that go with it: callbacks, data logger, calibration.

The Yocto-I2C does not support a 5V I2C bus.

Note: the Yocto-I2C is designed to behave as an I2C master, you can’t use it to emulate an I2C slave.
